WWFA Intermediate Cup Round 2: Merlins Bridge 16-0 Gors

West Wales Intermediate Cup holders Merlins Bridge emphatically defeated Gors at The Racecourse on Saturday to set up an enticing clash with Goodwick United.

The winners of the trophy these past two seasons will go head to head at Phoenix Park on Saturday, December 7th, after The Wizards had few problems with their Swansea League Division 2 opponents.

The midweek draw had drawn more attention to this game but after just 15 minutes the outcome was obvious as Bridge scored three times.

First Joe Leahy went clean through and unselfishly squared for Adam Hawkins to tap in - and then Leahy himself twice finished calmly from close range.

The one way traffic continued as Simon Thomas and Gareth Williams saw their team turn a 9-0 half time lead into a 16-0 victory.

Joe Leahy went on to score a double hat trick, Adam Hawkins got five and there was a hat-trick for Jordan Williams, and one apiece for Ben Davies and sub Nathan Greene.

Merlins Bridge: James Dickson, Andrew John, Chris Ormond, Simon Gilderdale, Peter Thomas, Will Haworth, David Davies, Jordan Williams, Joe Leahy, Ben Davies, Adam Hawkins. Subs: Luke Hayward, Lee Hudgell, Nathan Greene, Jordan Thomas.
