The high regard in which John Williams was held by the Pembrokeshire cricket community has resulted in more than £3000 being raised for Wales Air Ambulance.
John, who tragically died after being struck by a cricket ball in the Pembroke v Narberth match in July, was a hugely popular figure in the county and respected for the way he conducted himself as a player and official.
Orchestrated by Richard Howell, clubs have been collecting in charity boxes for the Air Ambulance in memory of John and have raised £3412.65.
"Many thanks to all the clubs who helped raised this excellent sum," said Richard - who listed Narberth, Pembroke, Burton, Kilgetty, Stackpole, Llanrhian, Llangwm, The Nomads, Lamphey, Laugharne, Hundleton, Haverfordwest, Hook, Carew, Lawrenny, Cresselly, Pembroke Dock Cricket Club, Neyland, Herbrandston, Newport Fugitives, Milton Village Shop and the Pembroke County Club as those who donated.
The Pembrokeshire Umpires Association presented a further cheque for £250.
