Division 1: Goodwick United 10-2 Narberth

Goodwick Unitedwere on fire as they put ten goals past sorry Narberth at Phoenix Park.

Goodwick boss Wayne O’Sullivan was pleased his side returned to winning ways after narrowly being beaten at Merlins Bridge last week.

This result was just the sort of tonic to get the Phoenix Lads back in the mood for the hunt for the title, they’re currently sitting in second place just three points behind champions Monkton Swifts after dishing out this shellacking.

Goodwick led 4-1 at the break and then added a further six goals after half time to boost their goal difference column.

Jordan Griffiths opened the scoring and Jake Smith banged in two before Griffiths grabbed his second of the game for the fourth. Ryan Williams pulled one back for the visitors.

After the break the hosts kept pressing and they didn’t wait long before Jonny Horgan banged in a fifth, then Steff Williams struck twice before Ben John scored his side’s second.

But Goodwick finished strongly and scored three further goals, next up was Matty Delaney with a penalty for the eighth and then came the goal of the match for the ninth as Rhys Dalling struck a sweet low drive from 20 yards.

Kieran O’Brien made no mistake for the tenth to complete the rout.
