Pembrokeshire football fixtures for Saturday, February 1:

WWFA Intermediate Cup Round 4 (1.45pm):

Hakin United 3-2 Goodwick United (after extra time)

Since the start of the 2015/16 season, these two have met in 19 competitive fixtures. Don't expect number 20 to be quieter than any of the previous.

Of those games, Goodwick have won 11 (one on penalties), Hakin five, and there have been three draws. The Phoenix Boys have held the upper hand in head to head meetings this season, beating their rivals at home in both the League and Senior Cup.

Since Christmas though it's The Vikings who have have been the county's most in-form side. In Division 1 they have 12 points from 12, scoring 37 times and conceding three. They also beat the Phoenix Boys in this competition at The Obs last year.

Goodwick had to go through 120 minutes last week with Fishguard although are a fit side, so I don't expect weary legs to be a factor. Recent weeks possibly make Hakin (very) slight favourites but in truth, it's likely to come down to who grabs a couple of big moments.

Which is a roundabout way of saying I don't have a clue what will happen......

In 2016 we had Wayne O'Sullivan standing arms aloft in front of the Slab, last season it was Nicky Woodrow jumping into it. Whatever happens, this one will be again be intense and emotionally charged.

Rhos 2-3 Neyland

I'll show some local faith here.

Neyland have defied the odds a few times in the West Wales Cup this season and will see this as a big chance to make the quarter finals.

It won't be easy on the road against a side promoted to the Neath Premier League last season (as Division 1 champions), but they can take heart from Kilgetty only going down 2-1 there in Round 2.

Rhos have been inconsistent in their league this season and come into this on the back of a 3-2 loss to Cwm Wanderers. Neyland go in after back to back wins over Saundersfoot and St Clears.

It's repetetive to keep mentioning Jason Griffiths but also impossible not to in his current scoring form and if Neyland are at full strength, with him firing up front, they can go through.

Division 1 (2pm):

Carew 2-1 Fishguard Sports

Carew have come back into form and it's now five league and cup wins on the bounce. And Scott Ferney's four goals against Narberth made it 10 goals in two games and has probably left him feeling a tad unlucky not to make the recent Pembrokeshire squad.

The same can be said of Fraser Finlay but regardless, I think The Rooks will have more of test here. Fishguard proved in the Senior Cup against Goodwick they can live with the better sides and from set pieces, pose a constant threat.

Danny Morgan's strike that day was also a warning not to give him space outside the box and I can see this being tight.

Carew won 2-0 at Fishguard earlier in the season and I think they'll extend their current run here. But they'll have to work hard for it.

Clarbeston Road 4-2 Narberth

Clarby put Saundersfoot away with ease on Saturday and Ben John continued his strong season - and on current form they look a good bet here.

Narberth have lost their last three games and conceded 23 times in the process. They are still a threat going forward and Karl Jones scored a thunderbolt in their defeat at Carew, they can't keep leaking goals at this rate.

I think both sides will score, but suspect Clarby will prevail.

Saundersfoot Sports 1-10 Merlins Bridge

Saundersfoot were a lot better last week following their Hakin humiliation but still shipped eight in that mentioned game at Clarby Road.

Missed first half chances cost Bridge in their 2-2 draw with Monkton and they will not only be targeting three points here, but improving their goal difference as well.

I can't see anything other than a big win for Bridge but The Sports should at least fight harder than that last home game against The Vikings. If not, the likes of Joe Leahy and Adam Hawkins will run riot.

I'll back Paul Hodges to knock in a third free kick in as many weeks though....

St Clears 1-8 Monkton Swifts

St Clears upped things on Saturday for a huge game with Neyland, but went down 2-1. That result would have been deflating and leaves them seven points off safety.

Monkton meanwhile, had that draw with Bridge. On the grand scale of things it wasn't a bad result but it did mean dropped points in the title race. With Hakin and Goodwick in cup action they'll be in no mood to mess around here.

The Swifts won 11-0 here in the Senior Cup and with their strength going forward, plus Ben Steele's current form up front, this could be another long day for The Saints.
