Division 1: Pennar Robins 1-5 Merlins Bridge

An excellent second half display saw Merlins Bridge comfortably overcome Pennar Robins at Bush Camp.

This was The Wizards’ eighth win of the season as they sit fourth in the table as Pennar Robins slipped to their twelfth defeat of the campaign and sit third from bottom.

The visitors only led 1-0 at the interval, but after the break Simon Thomas’ Bridge outfit scored four further goals to seal the points.

Two minutes before half time and Will Haworth struck a low shot in the bottom corner.

Five minutes after the re-start Haworth added his second of the game with a well drilled free kick.

Five minutes later and the visitors added their third of the afternoon when veteran Chris Ormond got on the end of Lee Hudgell’s cross.

Sam Southcott pulled one back for the hosts when he got on the end of a ball over the top and comfortably slotted past James Dickson.

In the 65th minute and Adam Hawkins broke from halfway to add his side’s fourth and five minutes from full time, Hawkins struck again, the striker placing his shot in the bottom corner.

The Bridge win was soured though by a nasty ankle injury to key striker Joe Leahy.
