West Wales Cup quarter final: Neyland 2-4 Trostre Sports (after extra time)

Ten-man Neyland put in a brave effort against Carmarthen Premier high flyers unbeaten Trostre Sports despite finally going down 4-2 in the extra time period.

Jason Griffiths struck to give The Nomads an early lead, but the visitors levelled matters through Chris Waters.

Neyland were reduced to ten men when Scott Jones was sent off for picking up two yellow cards for miss timed challenges.

In the 65th minute Rhys Griffiths struck to give Trostre a slender 2-1 cushion, but to The Nomads’ full credit they hit back with a goal from Wayne Parry as he lobbed the keeper.

Late in the game Griffiths missed a good chance to give Neyland what would have been a shock win. The striker got on the end of a Patrick Bellerby flick-on, turned, but struck his shot well over the bar.

However, in the extra time period Trostre grabbed a goal in each half through Jonathan Thomas and Waters with his second, to seal a hard-earned place in the semi-final.
