He had to overcome injury and the best young karters in Europe, but Narberth's Harri Reynolds did himself proud in Malaga last month.
The 13-year-old was competing in a European Karting event for the first time, taking his place in the highly regarded Rotax Max Winter Cup.
Things didn't start well for him at the Campillos Circuit when during testing he injured his back, and therefore had to miss a day and a half to recover while watching his competitors improving and fine tuning their karts.
However, he showed no signs of rust when the time came to race, and after three days of qualifying, heats and finals Harri finished 17th out of 55 of the best drivers in Europe.
Th result represents a big step forwards for Harri, who in 2019 contested the British Kart Championship and finished 7th in the Minimax Class to be crowned Top Rookie Driver.
