Tish are back in Division 1 for next season after being crowned champions of the second tier in Pembrokeshire this season.

The club has endured a few relegations and promotions in the last 20 years, but the high point came in 2005 when they beat Carew to win the Senior Cup.

Danny Howells and Graham Ninnis are two of those to have been involved with the club for a number of years, and have combined to select the club's best side since 2000.

The pair have opted for 4-3-3 with Howells doing the narrating - although worth noting he did not do the selection the right back!

GOALKEEPER - ANDREW PAWLETT

Very consistent and reliable goalie throughout the years. spent his fair share of time playing for the seconds before spending the last seven seasons in goal for the firsts. Suffered a bad leg break in 2009 and came back better and keener than ever. Compares himself to Steve Ogrizovic in his prime.

RIGHT BACK - DANIEL HOWELLS

Spent most of his time at right back but played all across the defence. Excellent on set pieces with a good range of long passing, lacked a little pace but positional play made up for it. Started off in the seconds at 16, but then became a consistent performer for the firsts for almost 10 years. Recently retired.

CENTRE BACK - BRENNAN DEVONALD

Been in the firsts from the day he turned 16. Great in the air and for a big boy, good with the ball at his feet. Very reliable sportsman for the village and always turns up even when he has had a heavy Friday night! Started playing midfield recently and chips in with a fair share of goals too, mainly headers from corners or free kicks.

CENTRE BACK - ROBBIE THOMAS

Another who lacked pace but positional play and organisation made up for it. Captained the firsts when they won the Senior Cup in 2006 and still turning up for the seconds now at the age of 50. Captained and managed the first team for many years, known to many as Mr.Tish due to his efforts for football and cricket. Also decent at organising bus trips.

LEFT BACK - ANDREW HOWELLS

Another regular for the firsts over the last 20 years, played in pretty much every position and even in goal one game - although his lack of height maube cost us that game. Not technically gifted but more than made up for that with his fitness. Rarely missed a training session and chipped in with a lot of important goals, mainly from his stints in midfield. Spent a few years as player-manager of the first team as well.

CENTRE MIDFIELD - MARC DEVONALD

Easy choice in centre midfield. Two stints with tish either side of playing for Hakin, winning the West Wales Cup and the local trophies many times. Box to box midfielder who’d cover every blade of grass on the pitch, score plenty and defensively sound too. Good in the air on and on the deck, was the player-manager when tish won the senior cup in 2005 and still playing as midfielder or sweeper for the first team now.

CENTRE MIDFIELD - ADAM KINGSBEER

Only into his second season with us but hit the ground running after moving down from Reading where he played a decent standard of football. Touch, pass and movement is on another level, another midfielder who gets around the pitch very well and scores plenty of goals from range. The changing room DJ who needs educating with music mind after some of the stuff I’ve heard him play!

CENTRE MIDFIELD - LIAM DUFFIELD

Whole hearted performer over the years for both first and second teams. Knee injuries hampered him over the years but always turned up and gave 100% no matter what. Scored many penalties throughout his career and did his fair share of defensive duties too. Would drive opponent mangers dull by constantly winning headers despite barely being 5ft tall!

FORWARD (LEFT) - PAUL PALMER

Could play anywhere on the pitch, and claims to be the best Tish player ever! Left for Tasmania in 2014 where he still plays for his local club now. Started up front but slowly made his way to centre back as time has gone on. Scored plenty of big goals for Tish over the years, was a big part of the successful team of 2005 and a big figure in the bar post games too.

FORWARD (RIGHT) - JONNY RODDEN

Joined us after moving down from Scotland in the early 2000s. Career cut short by a persistent knee injury but in his seven or eight seasons with us he stood out as one of the most technically gifted players Tish has ever had. Right winger, could beat a man, cross, track back well, and scored plenty of goals. Vital player in Tish’s Senior Cup winning campaign and have missed him ever since he finished

FORWARD - ADAM DAVIES

Tish’s biggest goal scorer over the last 20 years, and another who has returned after a successful spell with Hakin. Mainly a forward but used more in midfield in recent times, and still shows up now for the first team when possible. Given a few referees earache over the years too.

SUBSTITUTES

GRAHAM NINNINS

A regular face around the Tish football scene for the last 25 years. Mr Versatile and has also played a higher standard with Basildon FC during his time living in Essex - before returning west and playing every season since. A modern day baller.

KIERAN RENDALL

The current first team captain. Plays centre back, has a very good engine, gives 110% every game and will throw his body in the way of anything. Quick, good with the ball and a good leader and is unlucky to miss out on starting 11.

JOEL MORGAN

Another with a good attitude and been in the firsts from the age of 16. Gives his all every game and scored his fair share of big goals over the years. Can play out wide or up front, doesn’t give defenders any peace at all with his tricky footwork and also handy from set pieces.

PLAYER MANAGERS - ROBBIE THOMAS AND MARC DEVONALD

Can’t really choose between the two. Both had successful stints both playing and then managing the first team. Both good motivators and demand more every game!
