Ormond Youth round up:

Carew (75 all out) lost to Haverfordwest (77-2) by 8 wickets

A terrific all round display from William Phillips led Haverfordwest to a quarter final win at Carew.

Phillips took 3-14 in four overs to help dismiss The Rooks for 75 - and then made 38 not out as The Town chased down their target for the loss of just two wickets.

For the hosts, opener Rhys Richards had started well with two fours before falling to Teo Krol (1-10) for 13, but after that it was only No 6 Tarran Richards who matched him in reaching double figures – hitting three boundaries in his useful knock of 22.

But alongside Phillips and Krol, Harvey Watts (1-7) strick and the bowling of Ryan Lewis was also crucial, as he took 2-7 in a miserly four overs.

The defending champions made a fight of it though as they restricted the visitors to 23-2, George Waters clean bowling both Jack Peters (8) and Reuben Whitehead (4).

But then Phillips combined with Cyril Varghese to steady matters. The former cracked five fours and a six in his quick innings while Varghese stroked two boundaries in his 15 not out – as the visitors did the job with 10 overs to spare.

The Town will now host Cresselly in Sunday’s semi final after they comfortably beat Whitland. The visitors were restricted to 98-5 despite 29 not out from Luke Owen and 25 from from Harry Jones, while Charlie Arthur took 1-14, Morgan Lewis 1-11, George Smith 1-10, Josh Lewis 1-20.

In the Cresselly reply, a second wicket partnership of 102 from George Smith (57 not out) and James Goldsworthy (37 not out) eased The Doves through.

It was a much tighter game at The Athletic Ground as Neyland (101-8) beat Llechryd (100-8) by just two wicket to set up a final four tie at home to Hook – who were give a walkover against Hundleton.

For Llechyrd, Ben Mansfield top scored with 34 while Charlie Malloy (3-15) and Attticus Kingston (3-14) shone with the ball. James Lewis then took 4-23 to give the visitors hope - but 40 not out from Joe Campodonic proved crucial for Neyland.
