Pembrokeshire Junior Regional Cricket:

It's later than usual for obvious reasons, but the Pembrokeshire Junior Regional Cricket season got underway this week with a friendly game between the under 10s and under 11s.

The 11 batted first and set a good total of 115-9 in their 20 overs.

George Twigg (22) and Lewis Mason (24) top scored with some great stroke play while Taylor, Oli C, Olly B, George, Dylan, and Charlie all picking up a wicket.

Dan B took two wickets and was even on a hat trick at one point after a sensational over. Alfie excelled in the field with two catches while Morgan notched a brilliant direct hit run out with only one stump to aim at.

Olly B (14) and Morgan (8) top scored for the 10s in the reply as they fell short on 73-7. Some great bowling from Noah and George (both two wickets), William and Iori (both one wicket) along with tight overs from Ollie, Sam and Lewis helped restrict the total.

The second T20 was rain affected with the 11s finishing on 79-6 when the heavens opened. A wicket each from Sidak, Phoenix, Alex (1) and two for Olly N, as well as a run out from Ieuan and great catches from Griff, Charlie and Sidak.

"It was a great first day of cricket in 2020 for the youngsters with 18 debuts across the two games for the 10s," said Simon Williams.

"There is now plenty of cricket to look forward to for both sides with the 11s getting their season underway against other regions this Sunday again at Kilgetty, before the 10s do so the following Sunday away to Criced Sir Gar at Kidwelly."

On behalf of the PJRC, Simon also thanked Kilgetty for hosting and Trevor and Becki Badham for hosting the game.
