On October 1, the Milford Haven golf club senior section played a timed start stableford competition and it a day to remember for Rolly Council.

The event had 32 entrants and was a qualifier for the Colin Reynolds Salvers, and the highlight of the day was a hole in one by Council on the 12th hole par three ‘Boundary’.

The winner on the day was 24 handicapper Brian Keen with 39 points with nine handicapper Robin Potter one point behind.

The Course Standard Scratch for the day was 38 points which resulted in changes to the following players handicaps - Brian Keen from 24 to 23; Tony Davey 15 to 16; Gwyn Scale 14 to 15; Rolly Council 14 to 15; Mark Davies 12 to 13.

The two’s competition kitty was shared by five players with Rolly Council being allocated ‘two two’s’ for his hole in one and Phil Davies and Robin Potter both having two each as well. Gwyn Scale and Alan Dennison had one two each.

Colin Reynolds Salvers:

After 14 completed competitions in the Colin Reynolds Salver, with still four more to be played, Brian Keen picking up six points for his win has moved him back into the top three with 16 points.

Leaderboard:

1st Gwyn Scale 17 points and Brian Mitchell 17 points.

3rd Brian Keen 16 points.

4th Brian J Morgans 15 points.

5th Chris Harding 13 points.

6th David Evans 12 points.

Knockout Cups:

In the Val French-Esso Individual KO Cup, the final will be between John Skelhorn and David Britton  Losing semi finalists were Richard Setterfield and Mark Davies

In the Pairs’ Cup semi final, David Evans and Jeff Button won their match against Chris Harding and Alan Dennison.

They will now play Brian Mitchell and Robin Potter in the final - with games to be completed by Saturday, October 17.
