SEVENTIES legends Sister Sledge will perform their only Welsh gig in Laugharne later this month.

The American group, who became famous for hits like We Are Family, He’s The Greatest Dancer and Thinking Of You, will play live at The Corran on Saturday, August 30.

Debbie Sledge "We've got a fun, fun summer ahead of us and our 30th August gig in Laugharne, in the great Welsh outdoors is our only Welsh gig, we're looking forward to meeting the 'musical nation' that is Wales and getting "Lost in Music!"

Supporting will be Liverpool "Afro-British" band The Real Thing, who stormed the charts in the 1970s with songs such as Can You Feel The Force, Can’t Get By Without You, You’ll Never Know What You’re Missing,, Whenever You Want My Love, and of course You To Me Are Everything, among their 15 Top 50 chart entries.

This is the second live gig at The Corran, and follows a fantastic response for American jazz singer Curtis Stiger’s performance at the inaugural event.

Edo Velthuis, Live @ THE CORRAN’s director, said: “The response that we have had following the Curtis Stiger’s concert has been astounding! "We’re not just a beautiful boutique hotel anymore, we’re a proper fully fledged music venue to be taken seriously… which happens to be in the stunning surroundings of the Laugharne countryside.”

Tickets are on sale at www.liveatthecorran.com, priced at £42.50. Gates open 4pm.
