YOUNG people from across the county took to the stage in Milford Haven last week to mark two special anniversaries.
Blind and partially sighted pupils – and their friends - from Milford, Tenby and Pembroke presented Dylan Thomas’ A Child’s Christmas in Wales to a packed audience at the Torch Theatre.
The performance marked both the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and also next year’s centenary of the birth of the Welsh poet.
“The youngsters have worked very hard over many weeks and their hard work and effort really paid off on the day.
“They showed that disability need not be a barrier to success,” said Cllr Simon Hancock, cabinet member for health and well-being.
Backed by the County Council, the production was organised by the Pembrokeshire Access Group aided by UCAN Productions, a performance and creative arts cooperative for blind and partially sighted young people. It was sponsored by South Hook LNG.
