TWO new groups that help young girls develop self-confidence, learn new skills and build friendships have been set up in Pembrokeshire, helped by funding from the Port of Milford Haven.
The 3rd Milford Haven Rainbows and 1st Neyland Brownies are run at St Katherine’s and St Peter’s Church Hall and St Clements Church Hall on a weekly basis, and provide young girls with opportunities to take part in a range of activities and events. Both organisations secured funds from the Port’s Community Fund in order to buy equipment that will be well-used by all of the Brownies and Rainbows over the coming months.
Despite being based in Neyland, the Brownies unit also welcomes girls from Milford Haven and the surrounding area.
Started earlier this year, the Rainbows group has proved so popular, organiser Julie Drinkwater is now planning on creating a second group too.
For more information, or to volunteer with the Rainbows, telephone Julie on 01437 768416.
