Reuters is today (Thursday) reporting that the deal to sell the Murco Milford Haven refinery is near to completion.
Citing sources close to the negotiations, Reuters reports that a deal worth $500m will be completed shortly with private equity fund Greybull Capital.
The deal is set to be signed in mid-April, it is being said.
A souce told Reuters that it was understood that the refinery would continue to operate under Greybull.
Responding to the news, mid and west Wales Assembly Member Rebecca Evans, said: “I am encouraged by the media reports that a deal may be forthcoming which will secure the future of the refinery.
“This continues to be a worrying time for the workforce, and I join them in hoping for a positive outcome.”
