TEACHERS at Milford Haven School are using the latest technology to help them improve their skills.

The school has purchased IRIS connect - a package that enables teachers to record their lessons so they can watch them back and learn from them.

It can also be used so other professionals can give feedback to teachers.

Recorded content is password protected and will only be used internally for staff development.

Recently appointed assistant headteacher Caroline Zoogah, who is also head of the history department, said the school was always looking for new and innovative ways of improving teaching and learning.

"I am very excited about this new development," she said.

“As teachers we know that one of the most powerful ways to improve teaching and learning is through classroom observation; this helps raise the standards of teaching and learning and that means your child’s learning pathway is greatly improved.

“We have brilliant teachers in this school who always want the best for their pupils.

"To get the best, teachers need to be investing in reflecting on their practice, so the new IRIS cameras are an exciting investment in our pupils’ education.”

Mrs Zoogah said the new system was making the most of the advances in information technology already embraced at the school, which is being used to help make lessons exciting and stimulating for children.
