Did I miss something while on holiday in July? On my return I received
a letter from the Bon Secours Hospital, as a Church of Scotland
minister, inviting myself and my parish church council to visit. My
reply asking what a PCC was has gone unanswered to date.
On Wednesday, August 25, I opened my copy of the Radio Times for the
week beginning August 28 and turned to the Radio Scotland pages to
discover ''Bank Holiday Monday'' programmes.
This morning I opened The Herald to discover an advertisement from
British Car Rental offering ''special bank holiday rates''.
Totally convinced I must have missed something while away I phoned the
Glasgow number given and asked them about this. I was told that as a
British company, irrespective of the situation in Scotland, as far as
they were concerned it was a holiday.
When I tried to inquire further the phone was replaced on the cradle.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
