SINGAPORE: Pop superstar Michael Jackson apologised to his Singapore

fans yesterday for falling ill and said he would perform as promised

tomorrow. ''I was suddenly taken ill last night and I'm sorry for the

cancellation of my performance,'' Jackson said on a tape played during a

news conference. The multi-millionaire singer, besieged by allegations

of child sexual abuse in the US, collapsed backstage yesterday shortly

before he was due to perform in this island state. His doctor said he

had an acute migraine.
