I was appalled to see a report (June 13) of another dawn raid on a family who had been six years in Scotland. This flies in the face of all the indications from Westminster that "legacy" cases of asylum seekers would be considered sympathetically in view of them being settled with their children in Scotland. Now is the time for the Scottish Executive, whose leadership is committed to a different and more humane asylum policy, to take the strongest possible action, in the name of the people of Scotland who have at local level shown consistently their revulsion to such treatment of their new neighbours. - Rev Dr Iain Whyte, Chair, Positive Action in Housing.
