A FAMILIAR face is back at the helm at Milford Haven Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets.
Chief Petty Officer (SCC) Beverley Jenkins has stepped down as the unit's Commanding Officer, a role she has carried out for nearly two years.
Stepping back up to lead the unit will be the town's deputy mayor, Lieutenant (SCC) William Elliott RNR.
Having previously been Commanding Officer and a Cadet at Milford Haven, Lt Elliott stepped down from the role to pursue a career in teaching.
But when no other adult volunteers came forward to take over from CPO Jenkins, Lt Elliott threw his name back into the ring.
“I am delighted to be back in the position of Commanding Officer and I hope that I can do the role justice for the second time around," he said.
"I’ve paid public thanks to Chief Petty Officer (SCC) Beverley Jenkins for her time and commitment in the role; it certainly isn’t easy and we are all volunteers at the end of the day.
"I’m glad that she has agreed to stay on and work as apart of my team again.”
He also appealed for anyone interested in joining, either as a cadet or adult volunteer, to get in touch.
