A 'SANCTUARY' for local animals has been given a helping hand from the Freemasons.
On Friday, March 3, Worshipful Brother Adrian Davies WM of Neyland Lodge presented a cheque for £400 to Green Acres Animal Rescue centre.
The money was raised through the raffle held at W. Brother Davies Installation in December.
Green Acres rescues a host of animals, from cats and dogs to horses, sheep, goats, ferrets, ducks, chickens, turkeys and pigs.
All are looked after by a team of dedicated carers and volunteers.
The centre relies totally on donations from the public, including gifts of food and bedding.
A Lodge spokesman said: "Green Acres is sanctuary for the animals it opens its doors and hearts for.
"Many animals have been subjected to extreme cruelty, abandonment and neglect, and the dedicated staff and volunteers work to bring the animals back health and happiness.
"Green Acres is more than a sanctuary for some, it is quite literally their 'forever home'."
