A ROCK and pop-star themed carnival day rounded off another hugely successful Festival Fortnight in Llangwm – which included a visit from Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall.

The annual festival fortnight included not only the Royal Visit but also Tirion’s Rainbow fun run, a medieval banquet, family pop quiz, local history talk, singing festival at Galilee Chapel, a concert at St Jerome’s Church by a visiting Polish choir, and delicious daily refreshments and art displays at the Methodist Chapel.

The annual scarecrow competition winners were "Cat Stephens"in the individual category with "Ziggy Stardust" taking second place, and "Suggs" in third, with Elidyr Park's "Thriller" winning the group entry.

Carnival day kicked off with a fancy dress procession through the village, followed by a host of fun at Pill Parks playing fields including live music from ‘Village Voices’, children’s games, pony rides, cream teas from the village hall committee, craft stalls, a dog show hosted by Green Acres Animal Rescue, ukelele performances from the Jumping Fleas and displays from Cleddau Gymnastics.

Crowned Carnival Queen was Rosie Jones, with Carnival King Charlie Burke, Queen's attendant Lily Arnold, Fairy Queen Miles Breen, and Fairy King Jackson Collett.

Hundreds of people came out to celebrate, with the festivities culminating in an evening of live music at the Cottage Inn from The Collective.

The talented Roxy Evans claimed the coveted Llangwm's Got Talent title, with her exciting mix of ballet and rap, while little ones were entertained by Little Monsters and a bouncy castle,

The Festival Fortnight programme was co-ordinated by Llangwm Festival Committee, who will be taking a well deserved break of a few weeks, before preparations get underway for next year's festival fortnight, carnival, and events throughout the year.
