Lashing out in temper while arguing with his mum about money landed a Milford Haven man in the dock.

Jordan Lee, of St Peters Road, pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal damage when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Wednesday, August 22.

Dennis Davies, prosecuting, said Lee’s mother called the police at 8.10pm on July 28, after he damaged two of her glass vases, a glass candle holder and a sideboard door.

He added that Lee, 22, who had been living with his mother for two months, went to her handbag because he wanted money and the pair argued.

“He swiped out his arm, which damaged the vases and candle holder, then kicked out at a sideboard causing around £50 of damage.”

The court heard that Lee’s mother had not wanted to pursue a prosecution, but the police had decided to bring the matter before the court.

Mike Kelleher, defending, said: “There was an argument with his mum over money. He lost his temper, struck out with his arm and damaged a vase or two.”

He added that Lee planned to move to Portsmouth in the near future to take up a job offer.

Magistrates imposed a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered Lee to pay £85 court costs plus a £20 victim surcharge.

He told the bench he had already replaced the items he damaged.
