A Chevron community award granted to the HOPE centre in Neyland will help reduce the charity’s heating bills.

The award replaced two central heating boilers at the centre with a single condensing boiler and the three main areas now have separate thermostat controls. It’s predicted this will save the charity 15% on its annual heating bill.

Health, environment and safety manager at Chevron’s Pembroke refinery, Paul Blunsden said: “Through sustaining a world class environmental performance, we were able to award a significant gift to a local organisation.

“We are really pleased that we have been able to assist HOPE in this way and to better the lives of those people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in Pembrokeshire.”

Chairman of HOPE, Ken Brombley added: “We are very pleased to receive the generous donation from Chevron and we take this opportunity to congratulate everyone involved in achieving this award – well done, we cannot thank you enough.”

The centre’s annual open day is on Friday, September 10, when visitors can see how the unique charity offers support, physiotherapy and care for people across the county with illnesses such as MS, Motor Neurone Disease and many more.
