Dear editor, I came in on a cruise ship and nearly wept when I saw Charles Street.

The Black Death must have struck, underlined by the empty shop lets down the docks. It is all very well to send these people to St Davids and Tenby, but Milford needs their cash. What about a trip over the refineries or a round of golf?

Better still, a boat trip around the beautiful Haven beaches. Starting say at historic Hakin Pound, then Gellyswick to see the large ships. Then Stack Rocks to watch the seals, South Hook beach where Patrick James spent his youth, Sandy Haven for a dip and a picnic, St Ishmaels when pilgrims began walking to St Davids.

Date next for the boats, the castle with recent royal connections, and the bio-labs in the fort. Thorn Island, West Angle and a stroll through Angle Fort then home to bed.

Anyway, the Welsh cakes were wonderful but no salt butter. Where is the PA?
