THROUGH your paper we would like to convey the Cardigan Hospital & Community League of Friend Committee’s (LOF) grateful and sincere thanks to everyone who assisted with the recent campaign, run jointly with the Cardigan Town Council, against the closure of the inpatient beds at the Cardigan hospital and for a date to be set for the start on the new hospital which was promised over 25 years ago. The petition presented to the Welsh Office of 11,042 signatures demonstrated the depth of feeling.
Alas, the in-patient beds at the Cardigan Hospital has disastrously axed but the LOF will continue to support the consultant clinics and services at tCardigan Hospital including the X-ray, Minor Injury, Physiotherapy, Ophthalmology, Child Health Care Services, Phlebotomy, Podiatry and many other crucial services. The strong support from the people of Cardigan and surrounding communities has been tremendous over the past years and this continued support is vital and very important to the LOF.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the hospital staff for their dedication.
They are all held in very high regard in the community.
The LOF will continue to monitor the progress very closely to ensure that the HDHB will keep to the timeline on the new Integrated Care Project.
