RE: The man in charge of Ironman Wales saying they have no plans to move the event from Tenby - readers have their say on our Facebook page: MAUDIE HUGHES said: “Great to hear! The comments from the athletes as they came through Carew on the bike, thanking spectators for their support were great to hear. One competitor said the crowds here are the best and it makes such a difference to them as they compete. Great show Pembrokeshire people!”

CATHERINE EDWARDS said: “I recently met with someone who has competed previously and was told they could not have got through it without the support of Pembrokeshire people along the way. They remembered Pembrokeshire with good memories due to their Ironman experience.”

ALISON LEWIS said: “I’ve got to agree. We were at Carew and the atmosphere was electric. Well done to each and everyone who competed.”

KAREN THOMAS said: “Great news! We all love this event and it’s so good for Pembrokeshire too!”

HELEN GRIFFITHS said: “I was in Saundersfoot and the cheers were so great you’d have thought it was One Direction coming up the hill.

Amazing atmosphere!”

DAVID PERRY said: “What an event, well done all. Let’s celebrate the event, learn from the issues disclosed and continue to make this a massive success for the area. As the saying goes, “ you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs”.”

KEELEY CONNOR said: “Brilliant news! Absolutely love the atmosphere!

Luckily for me I live along Narberth Road so it was a pleasure spectating - looking at athletes’ numbers when running and shouting their names as if I knew them!

Definitely put smiles on a few athletes’ faces on their last laps who were on the verge of giving up! Well done to all men and women who completed. YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!!”
