HSBC customers in Milford Haven will soon have to travel to Haverfordwest to make changes to their accounts.

A spokesman for the firm confirmed the branch will close on December 6, with all accounts being moved to Haverfordwest.

No staff will lose their job following the closure, with all employees being relocated to other branches, the spokesman added.

Customers will still be able to visit other local branches, and withdrawals and payments can also be made at the Post Office in Charles Street.

Many transactions can also be done online or over the phone.

Commenting on the closure, Preseli Pembrokeshire MP Stephen Crabb said it was important elderly customers were still able to do their banking face-to-face where possible.

"While it is sad to see any business premises empty in such a prime location in the town, I have pressed the need for HSBC to decide on the future of the premises as soon as possible in the hope that it can be put to good use.

"I am pleased that there will be no redundancies as a result of the closure.”
