A MILFORD Haven couple who met at a dance party at the former Masonic Hall have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.
Margaret and Michael Carter, 85 and 86 respectively, celebrated their 60th anniversary with a family party in London on September 1.
The couple married at a double wedding with Margaret's late sister and her husband at Hubberston Church, with both brides wearing matching dresses - a gift from their other sister in Canada.
Asked what their first impressions on each other were, Margaret said: "I thought he was nice, and quite a good dancer."
"I was better back then," joked Michael, who said his wife was "attractive, intelligent and a good talker".
Margaret put the couple's longevity down to looking after each other, and enjoying separate interests - Margaret is still a keen sportswoman!
The pair have several grandchildren - who Margaret keeps in touch with via Skype and Facebook - and have enjoyed holidays all over the world.
Sharing a kiss for the Mercury’s photographer, Margaret joked: "I had better be careful, I don’t want any more children!"
