AN EIGHT-year-old boy is in a 'serious but stable' condition, following a collision in Haverfordwest that injured three people.
At around 3.45pm yesterday (Sunday) a white Ford Transit van left the road and mounted a pedestrian walkway on Sydney Rees Way (which links Withybush retail park with the town centre) - hitting three people.
The boy was seriously injured, and was treated by paramedics at the road side before being taken to Withybush Hospital by ambulance.
He has since been transferred to the Heath Hospital, in Cardiff.
A woman and another child were also taken to Withybush with minor injuries, but were later released.
The van driver was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road was closed both ways for several hours as police investigated, but has since re-opened.
The van, which sustained extensive damage during the incident, was recovered from the embankment overlooking Morrisons supermarket at around 10pm.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the van on Sydney Rees Way prior to the incident, to contact them by calling 101.
