SEA cadets from Milford Haven have been given £500 towards a new rowing boat.
Valero Pembroke Refinery donated the cash to Milford Haven Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets, to boost its latest fundraising campaign.
Said executive officer Margaret Gage: “T S Harrier supports a large number of cadets from Milford Haven and the surrounding areas, with around 50 young people taking part regularly in our exciting activities, such as seamanship, marine engineering, sailing and kayaking.
"Thanks to Valero’s donation we will be able to purchase a sliding-seat boat, which will be a great resource for our cadets now and in the future.”
Stephen Thornton, refinery public affairs manager, said: “Organisations like the Sea Cadets do a fantastic job in teaching young people important life skills and Valero is pleased that we can help T S Harrier’s efforts with this donation.”
