AN army of bakers have helped raise over £3,500 for Help for Heroes (H4H).
Cakes and bakes galore were on sale on Saturday in Narberth’s third annual Colossal Cake Sale, which won its battle with the day’s adverse weather conditions from the shelter of an army tent.
The event was organised by Sally Amoore of Llanddewi Velfrey, whose younger son, Jamie, was seriously injured in Helmand Province.
More money is due to be added to the total through account donations and cheques, and Sally said: “We were selling all day with very few lulls, so there must have been a good few hundred cakes. We would like to thank everyone yet again for making the day as successful as it was.”
The sale was officially opened by the new High Sheriff of Dyfed, Jamie Lewis, and was boosted by a legion of helpers, including Air Training cadets from Whitland and Tenby squadrons and personnel from the 14 Royal Signals Regiment, Haverfordwest.
