ONE of the biggest funerals ever seen in Milford Haven has taken place this afternoon (Monday).

Seventeen year-old Morgan Power, who died following a collision on the M4 last month, has been laid to rest with a service at the town's St Katherine & St Peter's Church.

Hundreds of friends and family gathered outside a full church to remember a special son, grandson, brother and boyfriend.

A service for his peers was also held at Milford Haven School this afternoon, with balloons released in his memory.

Morgan died on Friday, February 12, when a van he was travelling in with his father, Karl, crashed on the M4 near Swansea.

Karl Power has since been released from hospital and continues his recovery at home.

Following Morgan's death his mother Claire, and brother, Jay, described him as a "wonderful and cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, godson, cousin and boyfriend."

They added: "He was a popular and much loved character within the Milford Haven community and everybody who knew him is in a state of shock."

Hundreds of Morgan's friends gathered on the town's Rath to let off fireworks on the evening of his death and a large gathering is expected to attend the funeral.

The funeral service took place at St Katherine & St Peter's Church, Hamilton Terrace, at 2pm today Monday, March 21.

Mourners attending the service were are asked to wear a 'splash of grey', one of Morgan's favourite colours.

The service was followed by a private burial.

There will be immediate family flowers only but donations in lieu of flowers are welcome for the ICU, Morriston Hospital, Swansea, sent care of Nationwide, Charles Street, Milford Haven.

An inquest into Morgan's death has been opened and adjourned.
