Pembrokeshire County Council tenants are being warned to be on guard for cold callers who are pretending to be Pembrokeshire County Council Employees.
The council has learnt of bogus workmen who have been door knocking homes in the Milford Haven area, wanting to enter properties to investigate 'damp and boiler issues'.
“Pembrokeshire County Council would not do this,” said Cabinet members for Housing and Regulatory Services, Councillor Pat Davies.
“These callers are not county council employees.
“Notice would be given to tenants for checks of dampness in properties or routine boiler checks.
“It is essential that tenants ask for identification from any caller so that it can be immediately determined that the caller is genuine and a council employee.”
