CHAMPIONS Neyland started their campaign in positive fashion with a comfortable five-wicket win at home against St Ishmaels.
Neyland comfortably chased down Tish’s 143 for 5 as skipper Gregg Miller announced his return from injury with a match-winning innings.
Peter Bradshaw (38) and Dan Howells (45) shared an opening stand of 85 for Tish, but only Andrew Williams (21) and Johnnie Pawlett (20 not out) managed runs after that against Patrick Hannon (3 for 32) and Andrew Miller (2 for 27).
Gregg Miller anchored the innings with a cracking 61 not out and support from Henry Durrant (38) and Andrew Miller (11 not out) saw Neyland home in 34.5 overs.
There was some useful bowling by Steve Williams (2 for 44), Andrew Pawlett (1 for 35) and especially young Jordan Milich (2 for 27).
Neyland’s Paul Murray fell ill during the game and was taken to hospital. Telegraph Sport wishes him a speedy recovery.
