Local shot Robert Jamieson won yet another Gold medal in division 6 of the National Accoustic shooting league recently.
A member of the Modern Print Inclusive Target Shooting Club, Jamieson, proved once again that he is one of the best rifle shooters with a visual impairment in the UK.
Angela Miles, the disability sport officer for Sport Pembrokeshire, paid tribute to volunteers who help the club and Jamieson thrive.
“If it wasn’t for the support and advice received over many years from various people, athletes with a disability from across Pembrokeshire wouldn’t be able to showcase their talents and Robert is undoubtedly one of the most talented shots locally.”
Lloyd Davies, in his first year of shooting was another member of the club to shine taking a Silver medal in Division 12.
Non-disabled shooters and those with dispensation certificates also acquainted themselves well in the Eley National Postal Competition.
The competition is widely supported with more than 3000 entries in 34 divisions from as far away as Gibraltar and Kenya
Ron Hovell in the 10mt Air Rifle division “D” won Gold with Francis Parry in the 10mt Air Pistol division “D” winning Silver.
The club shoot every Tuesday from 1pm-3pm & 6pm-9pm at The Kilgetty Community Centre, Carmarthen Road Kilgetty Pembrokeshire SA68 OYA and will be at the insport series event in Haverfordwest Leisure Centre Sunday 9th July and have ago at shooting.
